Training
Whether you are new to Letterland, or have enjoyed teaching it for many years, we provide structured training sessions for professional development.
What We Offer
Initial Training
For teachers that are new to Letterland and would like an overview of the instructional delivery. Teachers will leave the session knowing how to deliver Letterland Strategies & Routines on a daily or weekly basis.
- Grades - Pre-K, K, G1, G2, G3, Intervention K, Intervention G1-2.
- Delivery - onsite or live virtual sessions available.
- Duration – 1 day for in-person or 4 hours (with break plus, pre-work) for virtual sessions.
- Attendees - Max 30 participants.
Follow-up Training
After Initial Training, follow-up professional development is vital to the ensure successful implementation and fidelity to Letterland. Follow-up sessions last a full day (virtual sessions are x4 hours with break, plus pre-work) and you can choose up to 2 out of the 3 options below;
1. Instructional Delivery
Refresher Sessions - for teachers that are familiar with teaching Letterland and already have some practical experience. Teachers will leave the session with an understanding of how Letterland Strategies & Routines develop over time and learn in more detail about lesson structure and daily or weekly timings.
Next Steps Sessions - for teachers that are very experienced with teaching Letterland. Teachers will leave the session with an in depth knowledge of Letterland Strategies & Routines and learn about extension ideas for small group work, center management, differentiated activities and independent work.

- Duration - 1 day for in-person or 4 hours (with break, plus pre-work) for virtual sessions.
- Attendees - Max 30 participants
2. Observation Coaching (onsite only)
Our experienced Letterland Trainer will observe your Letterland class providing one-to-one teacher, classroom, environment and instructional delivery support. Observations can be supportive if required. Debriefing and team coaching opportunities will be provided on the day.
- Max of 6 teachers with 20-minute slots
3. Lesson Modeling (onsite only)
Teachers will have a lesson modeled by one of our experienced Letterland Senior Trainers to observe. Debriefing and team coaching opportunities will be provided on the day.
- Max of models per day, up to 3 grade levels.
- Lessons can be modeled for BOY, MOY or EOY

Letterland Academy
Self-paced, online training courses that are designed for teachers who are unable to attend Letterland face-to-face training sessions, but want to develop their skills.
Courses
Kindergarten Initial Training
A self-paced, online training course for teachers unable to attend a Letterland face-to-face training session. Complete the course assignments in your own time, in as many sessions as you like.
Over eleven modules, this online training course will guide participants through every section of the Letterland Kindergarten Teacher's Guides. Emphasis on developing a clear understanding of the key routines and strategies utilized in the program
Building Coaches and Trainers
An important part of Letterland Training is supporting long-term implementation. Our train-the-trainer sessions will help you become a recognized Letterland Coach or Trainer. You will be confident in modeling good practice within your school or district and provide side-by-side support to teachers with lesson planning, pacing, data analysis and differentiation.
Train the Coach
- Sessions - 3 days.
- Price - $3100 per attendee (includes $1500 worth of Letterland materials).
- Attendees - Max 20 participants.

Train the Trainer
- Sessions - 3 days.
- Price - $3600 per attendee (includes 3 days of observations after the 2 day session).
- Attendees - Max 12 participants.

Get Ready for a Session
Make sure you have a physical copy of your Teacher's Guide, download the handouts and complete the pre-work assignments.
